Backyard Transformation on Blue Lake, Oregon

This project, located in Blue Lake just outside Portland, focused on a full hardscape transformation for a backyard that presented both challenges and opportunity. The property featured a steep slope descending all the way to the lake’s edge, with no existing structural landscaping in place.

Award Winning Landscape

The homeowner purchased this house with a weed, mud and gravel backyard. After considering the visual corridors, 3 Japanese Maples were planted to screen neighbors and the garage. The plunge pool was placed so the waterfall was visible from key areas of the house. The bluestone patio is accessed from the owner’s back bedroom and is surrounded by plantings to create an intimate, sheltered setting.

Unusable Space to Hot Tub

The Client wanted to create lower maintenance spaces for 2 separate areas on the property. An existing pathway had served its purpose over the years but they still wanted to still be able to move throughout the property. They also had an unusable space in the back of the home that connected directly to the pathway. After some collaboration with the client, they decided to install pavers over the area to use as a nice private hot tub location. We included just a couple of smaller bedding locations for some shade loving planting and to enhance the area of the hot tub.

 

Landscape Solution for A Sloped Backyard

The homeowners expressed great pleasure with the transformation of their sloped backyard. Plant selection was based on a low profile to prevent blocking their view of the gorge below the slope. Abundant color was added with summer blooming shrubs and perennials that brighten up the yard when entertaining or relaxing

Well Designed Rock Garden Replaces Muddy Front Yard

We are very pleased with the newly installed rock-garden. The design took into account our in-put and Josh oversaw all aspects of the installation. He was prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and responded promptly to emails and concerns. The job was completed with-in the promised time-frame and was the best value for the money of all the bids we received.
